About the Role
The Accounting Manager - Consolidations is responsible for overseeing day-to-day global accounting operations including supporting monthly close activities, leading process improvements, and ensuring the integrity of financial results. This role reports directly to the Corporate Controller and is based in Budapest, Hungary. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of operational accounting expertise, ERP proficiency, and strong analytical capability to support a growing, global manufacturing business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Close & Reporting
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial results
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules
• Partner with FP&A and business teams to explain variances and operational drivers

Accounting Operations & Compliance
• Maintain adherence to GAAP/IFRS and internal accounting policies
• Support the external audit process with prepared-by-client (PBC) schedules and documentation
• Ensure accurate accounting across inventory, cost of goods sold, fixed assets, leases, and intercompany transactions

Process Improvement & Systems Enablement
• Identify and lead initiatives to streamline workflows and strengthen internal controls
• Leverage ERP capabilities (e.g., SAP) to drive automation and standardization
• Support accounting policy documentation and adoption of new standards as needed

Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Serve as a key liaison to FP&A, Treasury, Procurement, Operations, and HR/Total

Rewards
• Partner with plant controllers to align financial processes across sites and regions
• Support corporate projects including carve-out, new legal entities, and future scalability initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in corporate or public accounting
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Demonstrated understanding of GAAP and financial close processes
• Proven ability to lead operational accounting activities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong alignment with the company's core values: curiosity, care, collaboration, humility, accountability, and integrity
• CPA or progress toward CPA certification
• Experience in SAP and BPC
• Prior experience in manufacturing, chemicals, industrials, or related industries
• Experience with Workday Financials or similar reporting systems
• Success leading close acceleration, audit readiness, or control framework improvements
