Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance Kerberos authentication systems and associated in-house tooling
- Maintain and enhance internal implementations of open source tooling such as OpenSSH
- Monitor performance and troubleshoot issues related to Kerberos authentication and other Linux/UNIX based security software we maintain
- Analyse data from multiple sources to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, stability and observability
- Create software to automate administrative tasks
- Improve deployment automation pipelines for speed and repeatability
- Work with colleagues, product owners and leadership to help formulate and implement authentication strategy
Requirements
- Proficiency with the C programming language
- In-depth knowledge of systems and network programming in a UNIX/Linux environment
- Familiarity with security concepts (e.g. cryptography, authentication, authorization)
- Experience of systems engineering in a controlled enterprise environment
- Experience of working with Perl and Python
- Attention to detail, good organizational skills and time management skills
- Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner to technology and business leadership, stakeholders and colleagues
- Excellent teamwork skills and ability to work both independently and within a globally distributed team
- Experience of working within an agile framework with associated tools (e.g. Jira)
- Ideally experience of contributing to UNIX/Linux-based open source projects
- Knowledge of Kerberos protocols would be beneficial but not essential
