On behalf of our multinational partner, we are searching for candidates for the following position: Indirect Tax Manager .

Duties And Responsibilities:

• Ensure indirect tax compliance in various jurisdictions across the globe
• Lead and develop a team of 2 to 3 professionals located in Debrecen, Hungary
• Direct the daily activities of team members, monitoring deadlines and providing hands-on support and coaching
• Review and when necessary, prepare indirect tax returns and account reconciliations
• Manage relationships with outside service providers to achieve results within the set budget
• Keep up with new law developments in indirect tax across the globe and advise the business of upcoming changes
• Research tax rules and regulations to support project initiatives and new offerings
• Support indirect tax audits, which includes coordinating data collection and timely response to information requests
• Assist with due diligence related to M&A and onboarding of newly acquired companies
• Challenge processes and identify innovative ways to improve accuracy, efficiency, and overall governance
• Identify opportunities to drive operational efficiency including use of automation tools

Major challanges:

• To become familiar with global indirect tax rules
• To stay on top of ever-changing compliance requirements in indirect tax and contribute to the development of systems and processes required to perform the company’s indirect tax duties effectively and efficiently
• To contribute to building a team with high performance and engagement and to support a culture of growth

Qualifications needed:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• 6+ years of proven experience in tax related role with at least 1 year in leadership role (experience at a big 4 accounting firm and/or in-house tax department of a multinational corporation preferred)
• Advanced written and oral command of English
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a team player attitude
• Strong attention to detail with ability to work independently and under time constraints
• Strong conceptual and critical thinking skills and ability to apply creative and innovative approaches in problem solving
• Self-motivated, business savvy, integrity, and great teammate
