The Group Treasury Accounting Lead Analyst undertakes Treasury accounting and reporting activities for Group Finance/Business Unit. Provides analysis and research by having clear insights and recommendations to key stakeholders from a group treasury perspective, in accordance with best practice, controls, governance and ensuring effective risk mitigation.
This role:
• Is key to statutory reporting of Group Treasury operations to the external investment community
• Is key to management reporting of Group Treasury
• Plays a critical role in risk management for the Group
• Supports Group Finance strategy
• Supports planning
What you’ll be doing:
• Manage and own the transactional accounting of UK pension companies within the Group based on the input from Group Pension team
• Manage the UK local statutory accounts process, including planning for year-end UK audits with external auditors and working with other stakeholders including business units’ finance team
• Prepare technical accounting papers for the Pension entities and ensure they are consistent with our Group Accounting Policy Manual
• Prepare annual financial statements and review accounting treatment and financial statement disclosures for Pension entities
• Designing and implementing improvements in the statutory accounts production processes including further simplification and automation
• Submit, review and approve journals
• Produce not just financial, but management reporting materials also
• Operate our controls effectively
• Contribute to essential review of workings within the team
• Assist with Group Treasury Back Office related automation, transformation and process improvement projects
• Provide support to various Group Finance functions when required
What you need to have:
MANDATORY skills
• You have at least 5 years financial reporting/accounting experience
• English on a fluent level is a must
• Experience with IFRS accounting and financial reporting, including understanding and applying accounting standards, drafting detailed accounting papers
• Advantage of being a member of a professional accountancy body (e.g., ACCA, DipIFR) or being IFRS certified accountant
• Excellent excel skills
• Appreciation for controls and risk based mindset
• Good at meeting deadlines

• Advantage of having experience working as, or closely with, an auditor from a professional services firm
• Experience with Treasury products
• Experience with SAP S/4 Hana
• Ability to quickly become proficient in systems
