Our client is looking for a Senior Buyer position to their Budapest- based office.

What you’ll be doing:

• Developing and maintaining knowledge of a category, region or function in which they operate including market dynamics and product life cycles
• Working within the category, region or function team to determine the appropriate approach to market, the optimum commercial models and supplier relationships for a product/service or element of a category
• Carrying out due diligence of Purchase Requisitions and eventually conducting negotiations per agreement with Category Managers to achieve maximum savings on a single order basis
• Negotiating commercial and contractual arrangements with suppliers for all products and services, including loading information onto appropriate systems
• Managing the supply base to ensure delivery against contractual and commercial commitments and “On Contract” supplier performance and ensure business benefit is realised
• Taking personal ownership for utilisation of contracts, ensuring that order channel strategy enables internal business partners to order items efficiently and contracts reflect customer requirements for their duration
• Working closely with internal business partners to understand their requirements and Supporting Category Managers, Buyers on maintenance of their categories as assigned from time to time
• Creating reports for the Procurement Team

What you need to have:

• At least 3-5 years experience in a Buyer role is a must
• Ability to generate MIS and data analysis for the categories is a must
• Familiarity with modern sourcing tools (like e-Auctions, e-Negotiations, ERP) is an advantage
• Experience in telecommunication field is an advantage
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications, especially MS Excel (pivots) is a must
• English and French on a fluent level is a must, any European language on a fluent level is an advantage
• Ability to meet the customers’ needs in line with the business requirements is a must
• The ability to convey information to someone effectively and efficiently while creating a good first impression and engaging the audience is a must
• Taking the responsibility and takes care of the consequences of making a decision is a must
• Acting in advance of a future situation, e.g. making things happen, putting energy to solve the situation is a must
• Good commercial sense, Ethical Trading practice, and excellent problem solving skills is a must
