Purpose of the position
The SQL programmer will bring the necessary skill set to help maintain the cohesiveness and comprehensiveness of the current data warehouse, performing data analysis and data mining, allowing all business areas in the GSSC to perform data analytics to measure performance, generate KPI reports, identify improvement areas, and make strategic decision. The work requires close partnering with various subject matter experts from all the GSSC section, such as Finance, HR, Customer Care, IT, Payroll, and other stakeholder consumers of data.
Roles and responsibilities
• Design and maintaining data warehouse solutions using star/snowflake schema designs
• Database administration (provisioning users, groups, access rights)
• Expertise in database performance tuning techniques and scaling strategies
• Experience building production-grade data backup/restore, and disaster recovery solutions
• Aggregated data from different data sources into the existing data warehouse in MS SQL Srvr
• Manipulate and analyze complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from different sources using a variety of tools and data analysis techniques
• Debugging of system failures, system bugs and apply fixes and support end users for continuous data extraction and data clean up exercises
• Participate in a regular review process to ensure that the self-service reporting continues to meet the ongoing needs of the business, creating new reporting as appropriate.

Required qualifications
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in database design and development, business analysis or software engineering is required
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in Microsoft SQL Server is required
• University degree or any formal training in computer science, information systems, or other relevant disciplines is an advantage
• Experience with tools for data presentation developing queries, reports, dashboards i.e.: Microsoft Power BI, Crystal Reports, or Tableau is a significant advantage
• Strong understanding of data warehouse design concepts, principles, and database structures
• Work knowledge of cloud and web technologies and related infrastructures, SQL Server Reporting Services, ASP, .NET, XML, Java and JavaScript
• Self-motivated
• Ability to work independently in a collaborative team environment, excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
• Detail-oriented and expected to ensure highest level of quality/rigor in delivered products, i.e.: dashboards, reports, data analysis, etc.
• Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required

Working hours
This role will follow standard working hours, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 17:30 PM with a total of 40 hours per week. Alternate work schedules and working hours are possible based on supervisory agreement. Working schedules will be confirmed by employer when requesting job assignments.
