On behalf of our multinational Client we are looking for qualified full remote Engineering Manager

Our partner is looking for a Hungary-based Engineering Manager to join their core product team called External to help them build new products, enhance features, and scale the operation that serves thousands of properties, hundreds of colleagues managing them, and millions of customers experiencing the journey.

Job Summary
The position is full-time and remote. You’ll be an employee of our Hungarian subsidiary along with 20+ local teammates.
Although this is a 100% management role, we count on your past hands-on technical experience to leverage as you take part in architectural planning and decision making.

Responsibilities:
– Lead a team, which uses Node.js and Vue.js to -for example- develop the company’s:
User facing, heavily scalable website, that provides the property booking journey
Progressive web application for our guests to manage their booking
Robust booking engine, that keeps us ticking under the hood
– Mentor, coach, help your engineers grow and set them up for success
– Work closely with a Product Manager and your team’s Technical Lead(s) every day
– Collaborate with managers and other team representatives across the organization
– Hold regular 1:1s with all members of your team, give regular, clear, and fearless feedback about individual performance, manage performance cycles
– Run and facilitate agile software development processes and events, unblock team members and mitigate risks
– Manage project goals and contribute to product strategy
– Identify missing process gaps, enhance the way we work, ensure high quality and well-tested output, increase engineering productivity and effectiveness
– Contribute to roadmap creation and architecture design
– Set and manage expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders
– Conduct hiring manager interviews, actively help to hire beyond your team needs
– Maintain positive culture, including empathy and inclusion by exemplifying our core values

Requirements
– 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with at least 2+ years in a lead role
– Proven track record of leading talent as a People Manager
– Experience leading medium-sized engineering teams (5-8 people)
– Worked in an agile environment collaborating with tech, product, QA, and design as a leader
– You know how to customize and operate a SCRUM based methodology to best serve your team
– Helping with ticket creation and tidying things up is in your blood
– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and spoken, ability to facilitate consensus
– Confidently use English as a professional working language in a geo-distributed setup
– Experience with large-scale, distributed systems design and development with a strong understanding of scaling and performance
– Understand the philosophy of systems thinking
– Ability to tolerate, overcome and mitigate changes, facilitate change management
– You are able and excited to travel once a year to San Francisco

Plus if
– Travel is part of your DNA and you have a passion for the real estate, tech, and hospitality industry
– You understand why user-facing applications are different compared to traditional development
– You’ve worked in a high-growth startup environment
– You’re at least partially familiar with our javascript tech-stack
– You’ve existing knowledge of Cloud Computing (AWS) and CI/CD pipelines
– You’ve experience in a remote environment with distributed teams
