Servers Engineer L3
Responsible for planning/executing the necessary activities through the lifecycle within Server technologies to meet the SLAs agreed with CIO/IT DEMAND.
Responsible for the continuous support of Group IT Server technologies to meet SLAs agreed with CIO/IT DEMAND.
Acts as the first escalation point for all L2/L3 Server technologies related tickets and partners with peers and stakeholders to deliver continual improvement initiatives in IT Infrastructure area.
Provide lead support as an escalation for lower support groups; Provide guidance and direction to lower level engineers and engage external vendor support as required.
Responsible for creation, presentation, and execution of Group IT Server changes and initiatives.
Work with IT Supply peers to build strong professional relationships and ensure the effective delivery of the in-scope IT services.
Supports Server Lead Engineer to Identify risks impacting existing IT Solutions, prepare a risk assessment, and develop mitigation plans.
Act as a subject-matter expert on Server issues, providing inputs to the decision-making process for IT projects, strategic plans, and budget requirements.
Responsible to work on tickets assigned to the L3 Servers queue in ITSM as defined by the Server Lead Engineer.
Daily management of Dell Servers, NetApp Storages, NetBackup infrastructure, VMware virtualization, MS Azure Cloud resources, Patch management of Servers
Coordinate and escalation point of the Server, Storage, Backup and Virtualization troubleshooting and problem determination of Major Incidents and associated tickets
Plan and execute capacity, performance, and risk management strategies to ensure the appropriate levels of availability, stability, and capability in Server systems as per the SLAs agreed with CIO/IT DEMAND
Understand and troubleshoot quickly and efficiently various issues on our Servers environment
Participate in 3rd level on-call duty on a rotation basis
Recommends and drives approved continuous improvement and optimization activities as aligned with Server Lead Engineer.
Supports Server Lead Engineer in managing Group IT Server services in line with SLAs agreed with CIO/IT DEMAND
Participating and leading major incident conference calls
University education in an IT discipline or equivalent professional experience.
Fluency in the English language. Additional language knowledge an advantage.
Microsoft MCSE, Azure or Amazon AWS training and/or certification or appropriate work experience in managing Compute/Storage/Backup technologies in complex environments.
VMware training at least VCAP level or equivalent work experience and knowledge
Red Hat training at least RHCSE level or equivalent work experience and knowledge
5+ years of experience as Server Engineer and/or architect in a multinational company. Able to work effectively and efficiently toward goals in a complex, diverse environment with multiple and changing demands.
Proficient in IT stakeholder management.
Experience with working with executive-level business and function stakeholders.
